Relationship abuse (a.k.a domestic violence and abuse/dv&a) is perpetrated in all types of relationships. Research repeatedly shows that sadly, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men will experience it in their lifetime. Working for two specialist dv&a organisations over 12 years, I’m very aware that recognising this experience in someone and feeling confident to support them effectively, are often expressed concerns for many people. I have written and delivered a wide range of courses from one-hour briefing sessions to whole-day training events e.g. to social worker teams, counsellors, corporate HR and customer-facing teams, voluntary organisations, education and healthcare professionals. Training is specifically tailored to reflect:-
Creating a safe and supportive environment is essential due to the sensitive nature of the subject but all training options are designed to encourage participation and inter-active, shared learning exercises. I bring the training to your premises but where this isn’t possible, I will source a local venue. I work across the West Yorkshire area. Where relevant, follow up resources (including local service information and recommended websites) are also provided, as well as copies of the presentation and activity materials. Contact me by phone or email (See ‘Contact’ page) for a discussion about your training requirements and associated costs. |
